Do I have to be a good ballplayer to come to the clinic?
The answer is an emphatic NO. All you need is a sincere love of the game and a desire to improve whatever baseball skills you possess. You will learn from some of the best baseball teachers in the world. Some of the participants play in organized leagues (e.g., MSBL, NABA, Ponce de Leon, Roy Hobbs), while others have not played baseball since high school.
If you haven't played baseball in a while (and I do NOT mean softball), I strongly suggest you begin throwing every day to get your arm and shoulder in shape. Play catch with someone or just throw a hard rubber baseball against a wall.
I cannot overemphasize the importance of just repeating the throwing motion to build up the shoulder musculature. Also, start a daily regimen of lower extremity stretching, including the adductors (groin). The last thing you'll want to do is throw out your arm or pull a hamstring or groin during your four days at the clinic.
Remember to take it easy the first day. I promise that you will get your fill of baseball over the four days. Don’t go out there and blister your hands the first day. Pace yourself.
What is the cost and payment arrangement?
The cost for the 4-day instructional clinic is $2795. This price includes hotel (double occupancy) and all meals. You are responsible for all travel-related costs. If you want a single room, there is an additional charge of $550 (La Quinta group rate).
Space is very limited, as there is a large percentage of repeat participants every year. I strongly suggest you secure your spot as early as possible to avoid being shut out.
Guarantee your place at the Pro Ball Baseball Clinic by registering on-line at www.pro-ball.com and paying the $500 deposit fee either via Pay Pal or by money order, bank check or personal check made out to Voice Doctor, Inc. If your check is returned for any reason, you will be charged an additional $50 fee. You will then be required to pay via cashier's check or money order.
If you make a deposit before 10-31-08, your remaining balance must be paid IN FULL by 12-8-08. If you do not pay your balance in full by 12-8-08, management has the right to remove you from the participant list and replace you with a player on the waiting list.
Deposits will NOT be accepted after 10-31-08. After 10-31-08, participants must pay in full. There are no exceptions.
Due to the extraordinary nature of this clinic, the $500 deposit fee is non-refundable.
After 12-8-08, hotel accommodations and group rates are not guaranteed. If rooms are available, they may be priced at La Qunita's regular seasonal rate, which will be significantly higher than the Pro Ball group rate.
What is the Early Bird Discount?
Those who register on-line and pay their deposit before 5-31-08 will receive a $200 discount off their fee.
Do I get a discount if I bring a friend?
For every new player you refer who becomes a fully paid participant, you will receive a $200 discount off your cost. Make sure your name is listed as the referral source when your friend registers on-line.
What position will I play?
We will do everything we can to see to it that you play the position of your choice. You may play other positions at camp if you choose. Fill in your favorite two positions in the registration form.
What are the hotel accommodations?
Because of the proximity to the Peoria Sports Complex, we will most likely use the La Quinta Inn and Suites, located at 16321 N 83rd Ave., Peoria, AZ 85382 (623) 487-1900.
The Pro Ball Baseball Clinic fee includes hotel accommodations, based on double occupancy. An additional fee of $550 will be charged if a single room is requested and reserved. There is no guarantee that single rooms will be available. Single rooms will be reserved on a first come, first served basis.
A very limited number of smoking rooms are available. If you desire a smoking room, we will reserve one for you on a first come, first serve basis. There are no guarantees you will get a smoking room.
Can I request a roommate?
If you want to room with a specific player, let us know in the registration form and all efforts will be made to meet your request. Make sure you guys talk about rooming together before completing the form to avoid any confusion.
What should I bring?
We do not provide uniforms. It is suggested that you bring two pair of baseball pants, a cup, a couple of baseball undershirts, at least one baseball shirt and a pair of spikes. Padres’ clubhouse attendants will do all your baseball-related laundry on a daily basis.
Bring as many gloves you like, depending on what positions you want to work on. Bring your own bats (metal and/or wood) and helmet.
What is the cancellation policy?
Cancellations must be received in writing (emails will not be accepted). It is strongly advised that all cancellations be sent via certified mail. Cancellations must be sent to the following address:
Pro Ball Baseball Clinic

Due to the unique nature of this baseball clinic and the administrative costs involved, the $500 deposit is non-refundable.
Cancellations prior to 12-1-08 will be given a refund of their payment, minus their $500 deposit. There will be no refunds to participants who cancel after 12-1-08.
There are NO exceptions to the above stated policies. At the discretion of management, if you must cancel, you may be given partial credit towards participation in the following year's clinic.
