Renovations to the the San Diego Padres spring training complex preclude us from using their facility in January 2014.

We are working to finalize the exact dates and site for the January 2014 clinic.

It appears the site will be either Bradenton, FL (Pirates facility), Sarasota, FL (Orioles) or the Kino Sports Complex in Tucson, AZ

If there is sufficient interest, there is a possibility of holding 2 clinics in January – one in FL and one in Tucson, AZ.

East coast players might find a clinic in FL more convenient. West coast players might feel the same about AZ.

If we use the Pirates facility, the dates will be Jan 2-5, 2014. Other dates are TBD.

I spoke to Dave Martinez (Rays bench coach) and Derek Shelton (Rays hitting coach) and they both want to do a teaching clinic in FL. There are a number of MLB coaches who live in FL, so the staff at the FL clinic will probably be comprised of a lot of new coaches. That’s exciting news! I’m looking forward to putting together a new coaching staff for a clinic in FL.
